What is your why?

Have you ever stopped and ask yourself why?

What is driving you to create a new habit, a new routine. What is the why behind the need to make a change?

Are your reasons coming from a place of truth and authenticity within you or is your why coming from a place of comparison, judgement, fear and unworthiness?

Having a why is really important because it will guide you to your intention and will ground you into it.

If your why is truthful and aligned with yourself it would be easier to focus and sustain, because it will bring you back to yourself and your body wisdom. It becomes an adventure, play time. You become excited, you look forward to experiment and see what unfolds.

For example:

"I want to move 'cause it makes me feel energized. I love stretching cause I feel my body relaxing and all the stress melts away." So you move, breath, stretch and when you are done you are in a blissful happy bubble.

On the other side of it. When your why is external, unaligned you will end up pushing and pulling constantly, going against all that is truth to you and your body. You feel it is a duty ( and a very painful one for that matter ) , there is no fun or curiosity around it, and it leaves a bad sensation all over you.

Flip side example: "I want to start a diet cause I am fat, unattractive and I eat like a pig." So you end up eating an uncreative, blah salad without any flavor to it while dreaming of a colorful, rich and tasty plate that you think you are totally unworthy of enjoying. Then you end up feeling cranky and resentful.

Create changes that are supportive of you. Choose you, before you choose anything else and ask yourself why. If you don't take the time to notice your motivations and reasons why you are going to do something. Your body will definitely have a strong opinion about it and will guide you towards the right path and choices that are uniquely yours. Just notice and be curious.
